The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime

As the final credits begin scrolling on my screen I begin to feel a great sense of relief fall over me. I can't believe what I had just done. This is something that I have been waiting for almost 20 years to finally accomplish. I finished The Journeyman Project: Turbo. Well to be precise I finished Pegasus Prime, the remake, but that is just as good!

Why do I feel this way? It is a long story.

Anime Matsuri 2015 - Day 3

Well this post should finish off my weekend review of Anime Matsuri 2015. I have to say I had a really great time going this year. It is amazing how much of a different experience you can have at one of these conventions just by meeting people and going around with friends. It really is a world of difference.

So what do you do on Day 3? Honestly....not much. That is a little disappointing in that a con that is so jam packed with activities all weekend long when Sunday rolls around it just kinda whimpers off into nothing. I would like to see more big events on Sunday and extended hours but maybe that can be something for next year.

Anime Matsuri 2015 - Day 2

As much fun that I had on Day 1 of Anime Matsuri, Day 2 was where the real action was at. This was C-Day, or Cosplay day. Today is when many of the cosplayers came out and do their photo shoots and participate in the Cosplay contest. If you are a photographer this is the day to come on out.

So what did I see and do on Day 2? Well I went to the cosplay contest (obviously), took a ton of photo's, did an impromptu photoshoot, went to the Nerdlesque show, enjoyed a hentai panel, and went into the rave for a little bit. All in all it was a really good day. Here are my Day 2 AM pictures.

Anime Matsuri 2015 - Day 1

If I haven't posted something in the past month or so it was for a very good reason. I have been preparing for the 9th Annual Anime Matsuri being held at the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX.

I had discovered Anime Matsuri a few years back and last year was my first time going. I went with a standard 3 day pass, by myself, and I missed a lot of the late night stuff. This year though I upgraded to a Superpass and a 3 day 2 night stay at the Hilton Americas.

2015 Winter Anime

It's a new year and that means it's a new anime season. I know I am late in posing this. After all the new season is almost half way done. What is even worse is that as I was looking up the shows for this season I realized that I had started some series but had forgotten about them already.

You see I tend to use these season preview posts as a way for me to remember everythgin that I am going to watch so in restrospect I should never forget to do these posts so late. Now my backlog of anime is even larger. -.-

Crest/Banner of the Stars

Back before we had services like Crunchyroll and Netflix it used to be that the only way one could get access to Japanese Anime was by either going to the video store or the library and checking something out. Back in 1999 getting information on the newest anime series from Japan was even harder. You could only really get information by either learning Japanese and reading content over there online or via print material.

When Crest of the Stars was first animated in 1999 I didn't know anything about it. It wasn't until I saw a 2000/2001 (ish) article in Newtype USA that was discussing it's impending DVD release here in the states that I first became aware of it. Ever since then Crest/Banner of the Stars has ranked continuously in my all time favorite anime list. Here are a few of my reasons why I adore this franchise.

Warlords of Draenor: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

If I haven't posted anything recently it is for good reason. Warlords of Draenor came out and I have been immersed in Blizzards 5th expansion in the World of Warcraft universe. After spending the last few months leveling up 4 level 100 characters and doing the whole gearing and profession leveling gauntlet that comes with every new expansion I believe that I am ready to share a few of my thoughts on Warlords of Draenor.

Photoblog - Houston Zoo Lights 2014

This last holiday season was quite different from previous ones in that we actually went out and did stuff this year. normally we just hang around the house and visit relatives so it as nice to go out and bout on our own and see some of the events that happen around town this time of year.

This year we went to the Houston Zoo for the first time to see their Zoo Lights event. This is a huge event held each year for families. Volunteers go out and decorate the Houston Zoo in holiday lights around all of the exhibits and you walk around at night and see them all.

Southpark: The Stick of Truth

It has been a long time since I've ever played a game like this. You know a game that you just enjoy playing form beginning to end. A game that draws you in and doesn't let go. A game where you run around and tell all of your friends about how awesome it is and they all universally agree. A game where you keep telling yourself just one more Quest, just one more hour. And then as you look as the credits roll you realize it's 3am and you've been playing all night long. And you don't want it to end, you crave more. That is Southpark: The Stick of Truth.

The case for an Overwatch single player campaign

Now unless you have been sleeping under a rock this past weekend you would have heard by now that Blizzard announced their first new IP in over 17 years, Overwatch. Overwatch is a team based FPS/MOBA hybrid game set sometime in the future. here you face off in various 6 vs 6 PvP matches on a variety of game maps. Currently only 2 game modes are know are Payload, where you escort a payload vehicle to it's destination, and Point Capture, where you capture control points.

Now I could go off and explain everything that is known about the game thus far but to be frank other people have already done that on various other websites and most of them have actually played the game. I'll link to a few of those here at the end of this post. What I want to talk about instead is the possibilities of this franchise as a single player game (which it isn't right now) and my reasoning as to why Blizzard could make it happen.
